About Me
I am a warm and friendly humanistic counsellor / talking therapist. My counselling style is open and empathetic.
I work with individuals and couples.
I am a registered member of the BACP and work in accordance with BACP's ethical framework. I receive monthly clinical supervision, and I regularly access ongoing professional training.
I offer a safe and confidential space for you to explore what is worrying or impacting you. I currently work either by telephone, Microsoft Teams or in person at my counselling room in Heaton Moor, Stockport. I have experience in helping clients with depression, stress and anxiety, relationship issues, motivation, communication, boundary setting, work issues, health issues, self esteem, confidence and more.
Alongside my private practice, I work for two organisations in the charity sector. One organisation is a Manchester based relationship counselling service (previously Relate) where I provide individual and couples therapy. The other organisation supports carers, where I am employed as the Counselling Manager and manage the counselling service. I have extensive knowledge of the impact of caring for a loved one with a diagnosis. I have also worked with and supported families who have children with complex needs. I have a keen interest in maternal depression and supporting mothers pre and post pregnancy.
I have an extensive knowledge of grief and loss and offer bereavement counselling. Grief and loss is a key part of my counselling practice as it connects to many aspects of life - loss of a job, loss of health, loss of a relationship etc.
I also design and deliver workshops on grief and loss to organisations in Greater Manchester.
